In Benin, the dairy sector holds a central place in the Government's Action Program (PAG) and agricultural development policies due to its strong contribution to food and nutritional security, and to job and income creation. Numerous efforts are being made to develop this sector and promote dairy products such as Gassirè Wagashi, the local cheese made from fresh milk of local cow breeds. To support the government's efforts in developing the sector and more particularly in promoting Gassirè Wagashi cheese, the African Center for Equitable Development (ACED) in collaboration with the Research and Technological Exchange Group (GRET) and the French Agricultural Research Centre for International Development (CIRAD), has developed an initiative called: "Establishment and development of the Geographical Indication Gassirè Wagashi". This initiative, funded by the French Development Agency (AFD), aims to support actors in the "Gassirè Wagashi" value chain for the emergence and development of a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI). As part of this initiative, the ACED-CIRAD-GRET consortium is seeking a qualified service provider to conduct a series of physico-chemical and microbiological tests on samples of Gassirè Wagashi cheese. These analyses are essential to identify the physico-chemical and organoleptic characteristics of Gassirè Wagashi.
