At the beginning of his career, Fréjus worked for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) as a young professional and was also a consultant for the European Union’s Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) and the West and Central African Council for Agricultural Research and Development (CORAF/WECARD). He has also worked for the African Capacity Building Foundation, the African Union’s Specialized Agency for Capacity Building. Fréjus allocates part of his free time to DagriVest, a social enterprise that strengthens the employability of young people in the agricultural sector. Fréjus Thoto holds a PhD in agricultural economics with a focus on entrepreneurial dynamics and the role of institutions in the agribusiness sector.

Frejus Thoto is the Executive Director of ACED and an ex-officio member of the Board. He contributes to defining the strategic direction of the organization and coordinates the implementation of activities. Under his leadership, ACED has become a leading organization on several themes related to food and nutrition security in Benin.
